the story so far...

2004: the idea of Ella and Sofia created in coffee shops, Cafe Sofia and Cafe Ella in Sydney's inner west.

2005: Ella and Sofia launched at Riley St Galleries as a surface design studio. Sydney attendees include stylists from Vogue Living, Inside Out and Sydney Design Quarterly. Retailers include Orson & Blake, Planet Furniture and Coco Republic.

2006: Ella and Sofia create textile prints for Sportsgirl, Peter Alexander and Yoshi Jones to name a few.

2006: Ella and Sofia soft furnishing range picked up by retailers Planet Furniture, Space Furniture, Coco Republic and Museum of Contemporary Art.

2007: Chosen for Power House Museum designers market "Young Blood" both in 07 and early 08.

2007 and 08: Ella and Sofia design home brand cushions for Coco Republic range.

2007: Featured as part of Sydney's top object designers in the Sydney Design Guide.

2008: Launch of Ella and Sofia as an interior accessories studio at Sydney Design Ex for the interior, architectural industry.

2008: Karie Soehardi, creative director of Ella and Sofia is selected in top 100 up and coming designers around Australia, completes pioneering Springboard mentoring program with other chosen designers, including Gareth Brown.

2008: Ella and Sofia works with Brendan Moar on Lifestyle Channel's, Dry Spell Gardening series one and two, completing styling and product for projects.

2008: Finalist in Home Beautiful Product of the Year textile division for Narnie fabric upholstered armchair.

2009: Karie Soehardi creative director of Ella and Sofia is runner up in, InStyle Magazine "Women of Style" awards.

2009: Ella and Sofia featured in interior stylist Sibella Court's book "Etcetera etc. Creating beautiful interiors with things you love"

2010: Ella and Sofia team with designers Emma Jeffs, Bryce Alexander, Allison Whitlock and Gareth Brown to offer a wider range of interior accessories.
